    I did that combination before as the fan before was wired that way, even the old extractor was a timer one but the timer never worked. As I don't know much about electrics, took a picture of the old one before installing the new one and wired it exactly the same way as the old.

    I have just changed the extractor fan to a timer one, Fan would turn on but the timer is not working, switching off the fan will switch it off straight away. The fan was originally installed with connection to the light switch that is when turning on the bathroom light will switch on the lights...

    I even had aa bad experience with a fully qualified gas safe engineer who left a similar sort of mess, and I sorted that problem with the help of a gentleman on this forum.

    I used him for some other work, asked him if he can fit the door and he said he can, I can get him back but I know he can't rectify it, told him on the spot about the problem but realised he wasn't very confident so let him go at that time as it was raining, did not want him to do more harm...

    Just had a new door installed, the guy who fitted the door was not a professional door fitte, found there is a gap on the top left corner (handle side), when the door is locked the gap closes but still a debit card would slide in.     Thanks for the valuable advice. I used a water seal of a different make last year, bought from B&q, see attached photo. Is this Thompson one better the one I used, Is rendering a good idea on such bricks?

    Yes you are right, it's the top one which looks a bit out of place and different. Are these current ones called butt hinge.? Can you please advise if I just change one or all three of them and what are the best hinges out there and are they easy to replace.

    Thanks Ronniecabers, Just found out that the top hinge got cross head screws and the bottom two hinges got hex head screws, one of the screw in the bottom hinge was worn, so could not adjust the bottom hinge, will try to get a hex bit which can rotate it, or maybe change the hinges but not sure...

    Composite door top corner hitting frame

    Can someone please help, my front composit door is hitting the frame when I close it, it’s not that bad but I want it to close softly. The gap of the door from the frame is more at the bottom to the top. I will appreciate if someone can help as how can I fix this.
