Small update in case it's of use to anyone spotting this thread in the future.
The BAL Max-Flex Tile Adhesive worked a treat.
However buried in the instructions on the BAL Micromax2 Grout it says "Do not use shower for at least 2 weeks after completion of grouting". This was a deal breaker...
Thanks for the advice - I rang up the BAL support line and they advised the following;
BAL Max-Flex Fibre C2TS1 Tile Adhesive
BAL Micromax2 CG2WA Grout + additive BAL Admix GT1
Something similar to this polishing powder might work? Lots of elbow grease required if polishing by hand, so buffing pads that attach to a drill are advised
I'm re-grouting the floor on the wet room as the grout had cracked and water was getting through especially around the drain area.

Agreed that it's a bit hacky but I don't really want to buy another Hive thermostat + receiver when the functionality already exists in the Dual channel version of what I have already.

Yes, that is exactly what I was thinking. Not ideal (or standard practice) to not have thermostatic control, but since the 30 min or 60 min boost is used it won't be a problem.
I have a Greenstar 36CDi combi boiler with a Hive (single channel) thermostat. There are two circuits, downstairs & upstairs - the Hive controls downstairs and it works correctly.
We don't use the heating that much upstairs, maybe boost it for 30 mins every now and then.
