I've got a Werner 3 piece aluminium loft ladder. Never had a problem before but now the middle section seems to be jammed with the top section. I can't see anything broken or bent. The bottom section moves but is stiff. Any ideas please
The nearest one in the photo is 1 of the new ones. The cold water pipe is the one I'm struggling to replace due to the kink. I'll try 1 of those angled valves to see if I can get a better fit.
Trying to replace the cold and hot water compression flexi pipes (with isolator valves) in the bathroom basin. The new ones are 15mm x 1/2" x 300mm which seems to match the length of the old ones (fitted by previous house owner). I'm finding it very difficult to replace the cold pipe without...
Guttering works all fine and there is a proper drip edge. I've checked the windows and they are all ok. I don't think we have condensation problems. I'm a bit stumped.
I've been cleaning the inside of my downstairs bay window yesterday and found that rain water has managed to come through the bay ceiling and onto the window sill during the recent heavy rains. This has never happened before. Not a lot of water has come through. I've been up on the ladder...
I've got a number of door handles which have dropped. So decided to replace the springs. I've taken the handles off but not sure how to remove the cam. There are no circlips and the cam looks to be pressed in. Any ideas how to remove? I've tried to gentle prise off by no luck.
See photos.
I've had a toilet leak in the bathroom which I've managed to fix.
The floor has a vinyl floor laid on solid board.
I had to take up all the vinyl up to sort out the toilet.
Now going to relay the vinyl, but on closer inspection I've noticed that the vinyl floor has some rips around the toilet...
I've decided to replace an old bath front panel made out of a single piece of mdf with pvc tongue and grove cladding. I've cut all to the pieces to the correct dimensions and now faced trying to get all panels slotted in together.
Problem I've faced with is trying to get all the panels pushed...
Yes the gap gives any water a chance from the sink to run down. It looks untidy and could prove a bit tricky to fill. I don’t know if it will continue to come away from the tiles.
I'm doing a spot of DIY in our bathroom.
I've come across a problem with some skirting board behind the toilet and sink, it looks to have come away from the bathroom tiles.
I don't quite know what to do. The gap is approx 6mm and runs for 30cms.
If I try and remove the skirting (its looks to...
I've got 2 baths where the triangle shaped plastic trim has lots of mould around the silicone seal.
Looks similar to the one in B and Q below.

I’ve got copper pipes in the attic feeding 2 showers. There is extra thick pipe insulation around every pipe and the insulation is checked on a regular basis. Last week the pipes froze. They have never frozen before and we’ve been in the house 7 years.
I know it’s been very cold but going...
