I'm doing a spot of DIY in our bathroom.

I've come across a problem with some skirting board behind the toilet and sink, it looks to have come away from the bathroom tiles.

I don't quite know what to do. The gap is approx 6mm and runs for 30cms.

If I try and remove the skirting (its looks to be glued), I could end up cracking some tiles.

The floor has some vinyl and if I re-align the skirting board I could end up with a gap between the 2 surfaces proving difficult to fill with silicon.

See attached photos.

Any recommendations much appreciated.

Are you concerned about the gap between the wall tiled and the Skirting?

Yes the gap gives any water a chance from the sink to run down. It looks untidy and could prove a bit tricky to fill. I don’t know if it will continue to come away from the tiles.

Squeeze some wooden wedges in the gap to open it out
(Wooden clothes pegs taken apart make instant wedges)
Clean out as much stuff as you can

Use gripfill in a mastic gun to glue the board to the tile
Use a bit of wood the width (plus a tiny bit) of the bathroom against the opposite wall to push the joint shut
Wipe off anything that squeezes out
