Just to conclude (in case anyone's interested); called plumber who took flue pipe apart. A rubber/silicone seal joining the inner tubes was knackered and a steady, but small amount of steam was leaking out into the casing tube. This steam condensed again, leading to the small but steady drip...
Thanks guys.
First answer; why would it be so dangerous? It's just the steam from the boiler going trough the pipe. A miniscule amount of that steam again dripping out.
Second answer; would I use silicone on the outside? Or do I have to take it apart, then silicone the relevant parts and...
The flue pipe for my Valiant boiler isn't entirely airtight and is dripping from the joints. A few droplets dripping now and then wouldn't be a massive problem had it not been for the fact that they contain some kind of sulphur or rust and which stains the grout in my bathroom.
All help would...
Actually, come to think of it I've got some 'weather proof' wood adhesive. Good enough for this purpose? (Would save me the 15 quid I'd spend on a tin of varnish)
As you can see in the picture, my kitchen worktop has a chip in its surface. This is the typical cheap B&Q or IKEA type of worktop, a kind of dense chipboard with a fairly sturdy plastic surface (laminate?).

BUMP!
A couple of years since this thread was active so the above Screwfix link doesn't work anymore.
I'm also having problems working out what this tool is, perhapas it trades under a different name?

I deinstalled a heated towel rack in order to paint behind it. When I reinstalled it I opened the pin on top letting airpressure out and closing only when I had a steady trickle of water coming out.
At this point the boiler shut down giving me the f.22 error...
Hi,
I took down the shaving light in my bathroom as I want to replace it with a newer model. I was quite surprised to find a sizeable hole behind the lamp. I guess I expected some kind of back box. In my bathroom the wire emerges from behind some kind of metal sheet, then runs free in the...
Hi,
No I never bought the flat in question so project never happened. But I still think this is a great concept in terms of adding value and would like to return to the idea for next home purchase.
I did however investigate this in some detail at the time. Councils vary when it comes to...
I know there is already plenty of advice online about removing excess adhesive, so sorry about starting new thread. But this problem has given me hours and hours of work with little results so all advice appreciated. When putting up shiny 25mm mesh backed mosaic tiles in my shower area I...
Before I painted the wall I removed some things that were screwed into it plus removing a load of decorative tiles. This left quite a few scars which I fixed using Polyfilla Fine Surface. I sanded this down proper so that everything was perfectly smooth. As far as I can remember the highly...
