Vibrating pressure gauge on Ideal ICOS HE15

Fixed this problem by bleeding out sufficient water to bring pressure to 0 bar. then removed bleed screw from highest rad on system. then with bike pump and pressure gauge i repressurised the built in expansion vessel to 0.7 bar approx. excess water can then flow out of the bleed screw in the...

Vibrating pressure gauge on Ideal ICOS HE15

as subject say my ideal icos he15 pressure gauge is vibrating / tickling and it is loud enough to be annoying. pressure is approx 1.5bar cold, 2bar hot. i tried bleeding some water from the system, venting rads (no air in rads), refilling system etc to no avail. it is possible that the built in...

Ideal ICOS pressure gauge vibration when cold and hot

Thanks for that. I bled some air out of one rad then refilled with water and pressurised to 1.5bar cold and problem has gone so it may have been lack of water for circulation.

Ideal ICOS pressure gauge vibration when cold and hot

Hi, I have an ideal ICOS which was installed about 8 months ago. Recently the needle on the pressure gauge on the bottom of the unit has started vibrating or flicking back and forth a little bit making a sort of tickling noise even when stone cold. I have done alot of work over the last few...

Ideal ICOS HE15 - continuous fan running

Hi, yes there is a water pressure gauge on left hand side. I would have imagined that unit was factory assembled and tested but will check connections in pump are connected as described in supplied technical guide.

Ideal ICOS HE15 - continuous fan running

took off the covers and the pump is definetly there, no doubt about it. sure there is no pump elsewhere on the network anyway. i wonder if i can bypass the pump in the unit and just install a standalone pump away from the kitchen to minimise noise... hmm...

Ideal ICOS HE15 - continuous fan running

its a HE15, non-system type boiler. it turns out the fan does spin down after unit goes to standby. the noise is from the integrated pump in the unit continuously circulating HW through the pipes. Pity it is integrated into the unit as the pump is hidden away in some other houses in hot presses...

Ideal ICOS HE15 - continuous fan running

is there a way that i can diagnose this myself?

Ideal ICOS HE15 - continuous fan running

it has an integrated pump, i took off the covers and verified what the manual diagram indicated. Not sure if it is bled properly - will check. by the way the whole unit makes the same amount of noise regardless of whether the unit is burning gas or not !

Ideal ICOS HE15 - continuous fan running

so i presume there is no technical reason for the fan to continue running ? could the pcb be realistically faulty straight after installation?

Ideal ICOS HE15 - continuous fan running

Just got this boiler installed and noted it contains its own pump and a fan assisted flue. The problem is when the boiler cuts out and stops burning gas i.e. standby mode, the fan keeps running. Both the fan and pump together generate quite a bit of noise. Is this normal? Can or should the fan...

    Ideal ICOS HE18

I'm a bit worried about the ideal now. Now I can't make my mind up - different people are all telling me different stories about the ideal range and the glow-worm micron range. Its very hard to read through the noise!! All I want is something reliable, quiet, not expensive, efficient. Also the...

    Ideal ICOS HE18

Hi, I am looking at getting one of these boilers installed in my 37 year old house on an existing (older) central heating system. Are they good boilers ? Should I be aware of any troublesome faults? Would I be better to go with an Ideal ICOS HE18 instead or are they much the same? many...
