    Extraction from bathroom

Hi, We've had an ensuite put in with the loo in a seperate room on its own. I understand that the legislation says we need to extract from the loo as well as the bathroom. The loo is internal, do we have to extract to the outside or can we extract to a loft? I need to get the building regs...

    Leaking mixer shower

Hi, Odd problem. I have a mixer tap / shower on my bath. The ones where you can switch between the two. When I run a bath the shower head leaks. When I switch it on to shower there's no leak on the bath taps. Is this something simple I can solve myself? If so how! With thanks Emma

    interior bare brick wall

Hello! I am thinking about doing a similar exercise in my kitchen. I was planning to use stone tile sealer. Its designed to go on to natural tiles to seal them from water and dirt. Its often used on natural tiled floors as well. You should be able to get it from any good tile shop although it...

32mm chromed waste pipe - does it exist?

Hi, I had a similar situation with our free standing bath. Only needed a small amount of pipe and didn't want to buy 3m worth (or pay the price!). In the end I did spray paint some white plastic pipe. I used a Chrome spray (not silver) that I bought in B&Q. Test first on an off cut so you...

    Which adhesive.....

Hi, I have bought some metal edging material that about a metre long and is at a right angle down the length - it the type of thing that covers an external corner. I want to put it where some tiling meets the end of the wall so that I can give the appearence of a neat finish. What is the...

    help!! emulsion paint on carpet

Hi, I bought a little tube of 'Paint Away' from Kleeneze. Its for emulsion or gloss and I've used it successfully on my jeans. Its a gel that lifts the paint off but you still have to pick at it a bit. I think its their own label so not sure if there is something in the shops thats...

    MFI

I had an Ikea kitchen in my last house. It was really simple to order everything (staff actually know something about the product and aren't trying to sell to you). Once you decode the names of everything I got clear instructions about what was coming and when and if I remember correctly you can...

Sealing a large gap between bath and tiles

I've used the quadrants and they work very well (although I didn't have a gap as large as your one). I bought them from a tile shop - they seemed to be readily available from tile shops so you shouldn't find them too hard to find.

    Spark in Switch

Hi, I've recently had some new electrics done at home. Had four new lights put in running off a new double switch. I've noticed that I see an occasion spark from inside the switch when I turn off the switch which operates 3 lights. It was only done about a week ago and I am worried about the...
