New boiler was chem flushed at installers recommendation

yes & no. If you have a 19mb working pressure at the meter, 18mb at the inlet valve - Worcester judge a 1.5mb drop from the inlet to the gas valve. A reading of 16.5mb at the gas valve in this instance is acceptable. As there isn't a test nipple before the inlet valve, you can't measure a...

New boiler was chem flushed at installers recommendation

What boiler did you have installed? As some manufacturers allow lower working pressure, i.e Glow Worm flexicom have a minimum of 15mb and Worcester CDi, Si & jnrs allow minimum of 16.5mb.

    Engineered Oak Floor lifting

Hi I had a new extension built last year. On the ground floor, I had 21mm (6mm) engineered oak installed in September. I noticed today that one of the boards in the middle of the room is starting to lift. I generally had a bad experience with the contractors - mainly the owner getting...

    Cracks in plaster

Hi We had a 2 storey extension built last year - finished about Aug/Sep. For the last few months I have noticed cracks appearing in all the rooms where the ceiling meets the wall. Are these settling cracks? and if so, what is the best way of treating them? caulk? Regards, Graham

    Sign-off documentation timescale

Thanks for the reply b-a-s. I've sorted it now. I rang Building Control and managed to find out that it had been automatically sent to them. They suggested I contact the Electrician again to get a hard copy; which I have done and await that. I had chased the electrician a couple of weeks...

    Weatherproof flooring

Hi We are having a 2 storey extension being built. The Builders have done the brickwork up past the first floor and have just put first floor joists in. Today they told me that they were going to lay the chipboard flooring (i.e the permenant floor that the carpets will go on) so that the...

    Boiler sizing

Hi I have a question re. sizing. I'm putting in a boiler into a large "games room". There is minimal hot water demand (1 kitchen sink, 1 WC basin). I quoted for a Worcester 24 junior or a Glow Worm Flexicom 24cx. However, having another look today, I wondered whether these were...
