Sign-off documentation timescale

Hi

Does anyone know how long it normally takes before I (the homeowner) should receive confirmation of the electrics sign-off on my new extension?

It's been 6 weeks now since the electrician finished the job, and I need it so that Building control can sign off the extension.

Any help, much appreciated.

Where did you find the electrician?

Is it that he is registered, and has not notified the work through his scheme organiser or he is not registered?

Has he provided you with an EIC?

What happens when you try to contact him?

Have you paid him in full?

I've sorted it now. I rang Building Control and managed to find out that it had been automatically sent to them. They suggested I contact the Electrician again to get a hard copy; which I have done and await that.

I had chased the electrician a couple of weeks back and he led me to believe that I would be getting something in the post from whoever he notified.
