    Beauty Parlour next door

How would this sit with you all? I live in a nice quiet street and the newish next door neighbours have built a a garage which of course on its own they're quite within their rights under permitted development regs. BUT its fully kitted out as a beauty salon and trades openly on the net...

    Liniar Windows

Morning all. I've had a quote after providing my own sizes (surveyor needs to confirm) for 7 upvc A rated windows which looks competitive (just under 3k), the company uses "Liniar Profiles" which appears very neat so no issuess re looks. Having looked around a few sites this morning it seems...

    Odd Incident can anyone explain.....

The double from which the spur had been taken checked out OK with the M/dale. I initially wondered if there was an internal fault on the double which showed L/N reversed, I replaced this and the L/N reversed still showed up. I could then only assume that there was a cable problem between the...

    Odd Incident can anyone explain.....

Whilst changing some taps in a groundfloor cloaks, for a client I plugged in my lead light into the nearest double socket which was under a desk in her study. The light worked fine (has a metal clamp and cage on it) by the way. As I went to reposition the light whilst touching the first of the...

hob oven and combi microwave wiring

Rivalt, I just read the info on the microwave on the JL site and it does say its rated at 3400w and mentions a plug is fitted or it can be hard wired if permanently fitted. Confusing or what?............. On the one hand we have a 3400w appliance which the blurb clearly states can be simply...

hob oven and combi microwave wiring

So thanks again for the helpful posts my fine gents and here's a little more of this conundrum: This afternoon I fitted a 13amp plug to the JL micro wave and got on and cooked some jacket spuds which took 18 - 20mins. I repeatedly tried the temp of the plug and it didn't even get warm. Oh and...

hob oven and combi microwave wiring

Rivalt, trust me mate I'm looking at it and there is a lead but no plug and the booklet says requires 15amp fuse.....how?. This is ambiguous to say the least. Another poster said anything over 2kw shouldn't be plugged in.......my kettlle is 2.8kw?? Cheers Harry

hob oven and combi microwave wiring

Fanx all for the helpful posts and input. The micro wave is model JLBIO2 product 947640685. Grill 1.55kw, conv 1.7kw and according to Mi,s needs a 15amp fuse??? Only achievable in my case by fitting a 16amp mcb in an adjacent cupboard. Question is tho feed it from the cooker isolator or spur off...

hob oven and combi microwave wiring

Hi all, I have the following situation at home reference a kitchen refit. John Lewis: Hob 7.4kw, Combination micro wave oven 3.45kw and oven 3.68kw. Odd fuse sizes of 15 and 16amp (EU I guess) for the last two but with diversity they'll run at 11.5 and 11.8 amp? I'm considering feeding...
