So, thread sealer it is then. Is any product better than the rest, or are they all much the same?

Yes, it's a standard indirect cylinder (Manco, i think, grade 3 so rated for 10m head)
I was previously advised to use Gas tape as being a bit thicker it should create a better seal.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, that the 90 degree compression fitting is not done up tight against the...
Having recently replaced my hot water tank, the bottom connection into the tank is weepeing. I remade the connection twice this weekend, using Gas PTFE tape but to no avail - if anything it has got slightly worse.
I have some thread selant that I bought from homebase, which is to be the...
Amongst other things, I am looking to replace the room thermostats in my flat with 5+2 programmable ones. These need to be capable of switching 3kW loads (i.e rated 16 Amp) as they are installed inline to my (electrical) heating.
Having done some research, I have found the following that...
Having replaced my hot water tank, I am now sorting out some of the dodgier aspects of the previous owners wiring and installing a dedicated economy 7 controller for my immersion heater.
My understanding is that I need to have a twin pole isolating switch inline between the immersion and...
I have just replaced the hot water tank in my airing cupboard, as the old one was leaking. Having removed & replaced the tank, I painted the walls, only to discover that the tank must have been leaking a lot longer than I thought and that quite a large amount of water has been sucked up into...
Job Done.

I am in the process of replacing my hot water cylinder after the previous one had sprung a leak (over quite some period of time, and now I have a significant damp problem in my airing cupboard walls, but that is another matter).
Anyway, I have removed the old cylinder, purchased a new one and...
Tom, what I currently have is not all that dissimilar to what you used to have - badly painted pink (over grey I think). And whoever did the decorating had too much artex to spare as all the walls and ceiling are covered with it. That nice pointy stuff too - try falling against that when you...
The bath suite in the flat I recently purchased is the original late 1960's pink . Whilst personally I would have preferred avaocado you get what you get and in the long run it will be ripped out anyway.
Anyway, once I've got the kitchen spruced up, the bathroom is next. A complete refit...
I am currently replacing all the electric heating in my flat. I have been thinking along the lines of oil filled panel radiators but haven't seen anything that I like / has a bit more stlye than a brick.
Wondering through my local hardware store the other day, I came across heating elements...
