Bosch Classixx 1200 - replace heating relay?

Thanks for your help. The new relay (bottom relay in the second photo) is in! The machine is back together. Here's my soldering displayed for all to criticise: And the good thing about my house is that if it doesn't work, I'll hear about it very soon ;-)

Bosch Classixx 1200 - replace heating relay?

Hi all - thanks for the replies - the time has come to give this a go! Starting to cause problems again. Photos attached. On the front side, there is a little black carbon-looking buildup (front.jpg). There's also a smudgy looking solder which might've been the repairman from a few years ago...

Bosch Classixx 1200 - replace heating relay?

Hello all, We've had a trusty Bosch Classixx 1200 Express for over 15 years and fixed a few things when necessary (including bearings 6 months ago). It looks like the heating relay is on the way out. A repair man came and tapped the relay it and it worked again for a couple of weeks. His...

Can I cut through from loft into dormer 'loft' to insulate?

Evening all. We have a 1.5 story victorian house with slate roof and dormers - 3 at front and 1 dormer at the rear. We've had various parts of the roof & loft insulated where possible, but above the dormers it's not been done. Is there any issue with cutting a hatch through the sarking from...

    Chainsaw oil pump issue

Yes John - oil thinned, pump primed and it started working fine! Chain looks way better now it's coated again. Thanks

    Chainsaw oil pump issue

Interesting. The old one spins fairly easily. I'm hoping the new one loosens up a little with use. Or maybe it's been badly manufactured.

    Chainsaw oil pump issue

Thanks John, I'll try thinning the oil later. I did already try the first suggestion, but the new pump is almost too stiff turn with a greasy finger.

    Chainsaw oil pump issue

Yes, pretty certain it is -- the back of the clutch drum, which has the teeth for the chain, also turns the plastic wheel. It fits fine - nothing looks out of shape. The threads on the back of that wheel, which in turn rotate a wheel in the pump, look ok too - and seem to engage ok on that side...

    Chainsaw oil pump issue

Hi all - looking for some help on why my chain isn't getting oil. It's a cheap "Gardenline" chainsaw from Aldi (pictured below) I've replaced the pump; I've disconnected and blown through both pipes to confirm they're not blocked (mmm, tasty), I've checked the inlet pipe inside the oil tank is...

    Pellet-feed help! (parents' biomass system)

If you mean this one here - that looks like a vertical auger, so a very different setup to mine... or was it another video? This could be the situation, but I don't think so. I had it fully submerged (in the big drum) running for nearly 15 min without success. Maybe a nozzle/funnel on that...

    Pellet-feed help! (parents' biomass system)

It might not be a DIY pipe, but it does look a bit modified - the zigzag cuts over-shoot a bit. This is possibly the issue / an issue. No, this is just a bucket of pellets I was using. I was hoping I could find the magic angle where pellets would be able to travel up the entire length of the...

    Pellet-feed help! (parents' biomass system)

To any and all who can help... I'm in the process of understanding my parents' biomass system. The one part I can't get working is the pellet feed auger / screw. It looks like the auger screw is way too small for the pipe where it's situated, and just isn't effective. I've tried setting it...

    What are these fixings called??

Hi, to save us from throwing out a clothes airer which was surprisingly expensive, can you advise what this type of fixing/rivet is called? (In picture below) And also where I might get one. And would I need a specialist tool to fit it? I do have a rivet gun, but I don't think it's that...

McCulloch 25cc strimmer (curved shaft) screeching

So I have had the drive shaft out (weeks ago, sorry can't remember whether it was a left hand thread or not!) I oiled the entire shaft, didn't have grease to hand. Seemed to be a bit worse after that! John, when you say drive tube, would that be the same tube as the external tube? Or is there...
