Potterton Promax - hot water but no heating

As far as possible, no obviously leaks. I thought it might be an open tap or minimally dripping shower, but no. Happily, the neighbour I was trying to help called me back to say that the heating was back on again. Looking at the boiler again, the hot water indicator had gone out and let the...

Potterton Promax - hot water but no heating

Seeing a Potterton Promax 28 combi boiler where the heating seems to have completely stopped working this afternoon. It is still heating hot water on demand perfectly well. The hot water indicator on the boiler itself is constantly on, and the burner indicator lights up when I increase the hot...

    Stuck bathroom mixer tap handle

A little boiling water did the trick! Thanks very much, Terry.

    Stuck bathroom mixer tap handle

Another leaking bathroom mixer tap - I want to remove the handle, have removed the little internal screw with an allen key, but it refuses to budge without more force than I'm confident to use. This kind of handle should be removable, right? What can I try to make it come away?

Siamp Storm 33 - Replaced seal, still leaking

Thanks kg - I'll no doubt end up doing just that, just blind hope that it might be something stupidly simple that saves me some money, if not stress.

Siamp Storm 33 - Replaced seal, still leaking

I'm trying, slowly, to fix a toilet that has been leaking into the bowl for some time, with the short, annoying refilling of the cistern every ten minutes. I've tried replacing the rubber seal but only seem to have made it worse. It's an old Siamp Storm 33 flush valve and it seems that the...

Oven - Beko OIF22300, no light or heat...

Hi - so it seems like my oven has died. While the clock and timer functions work perfectly well, turning the control knobs neither turns on the light or fan inside the oven, nor does any heating begin. Can I ask what this might suggest as a point of failure, perhaps something not as simple as a...

How to change a light bulb? (LED over-shower)

It's the removal of the chrome grill that I can't see how to do. Clockwise, anti-clockwise...it doesn't give at all with considerable force. I don't even know if the grill and cover are all one piece, whether the bulb will drop out on its own in some way.

How to change a light bulb? (LED over-shower)

Did you attach it to the glass face of the lamp? I can't even tell if there's space for the bulb to come out with removing the plastic grill/cover first. I've tried this with as much force as I dare to, but it won't budge (n)

How to change a light bulb? (LED over-shower)

Hello, I've a failing LED bulb over the shower tray in the bathroom, with all but three or four of the LED's no longer illuminating. However looking at it, I've no idea how to remove the fixture in front of it to remove the bulb, whether by twisting or pulling, preferably without breaking it...

    2-gang, 2-way switch replacement

Cheers Terry. I definitely will do, it's another metal plate that's going in as a replacement too. The long term issue of having to turn on/off multiple switches to get the outside light to work? I'll get a picture of the switch at the other end of the wall uploaded asap - thanks Andy.

    2-gang, 2-way switch replacement

Apologies for another lighting switch query... I want to replace some double light switches, hoping for some guidance as to what I'm looking at with the current setup. Switches by lasto posted 27 Mar 2020 at 8:16 AM There are two doubles at either end of the hall, and the hall light can be...
