The actual mixer valve is a concealed thermostatic type as here:

Attached is a rough sketch of what I want to do, showing the mixer valve mounted flat on the boxed-in area at the opposite end of the bath to where the drench shower head is. With the valve mounted in this location it will not be directly under any shower water and it allows you to turn on the...
All the valves I've looked at just seem to assume you are going to mount it vertically. Their instructions don't even mention whether the valve can be mounted horizontally. I've looked at loads and haven't found one that says the valve is suitable for horizontal mounting. I have actually done...
Hi
I am planning a refurb of my son's bathroom and want to fit a concealed shower thermostatic mixer valve but rather than fit vertically on the wall I would like to fit horizontally on a boxed in area at the end of the bath. Is there any reason that these types of valves cannot be mounted...
Hi,
My sister has had an extension to her bungalow and two additional rads were installed. Since the extension was completed the two new rads have never got hot, only luke warm. All existing radiators get hot. The new rads have been bled and the whole system has apparently been balanced...
One reason I'm favouring fitting in the Hall is because all the wiring in the airing cupboard is in a plastic junction box and it's like a bird's nest in there with 'chocolate block' connectors galore !! I'll probably find it much easier to identify the wires that connect into the old Heatmiser...
Thanks for your quick response CBW. The Heatmiser thermostat has a permanent Neutral and permanent Live connection and a Switched Live wire running back to the airing cupboard so I was thinking I could just remove the Heatmiser and connect the above wires to the T4R Receiver which requires the...
I am planning to replace my hard wired Heatmiser programmable thermostat located in my hall with a wireless Honeywell T4R thermostat and receiver. My system boiler is located in the loft with my heating 2 port valve located in my airing cupboard on the landing (next to the hot water cylinder)...
Thanks Muggles. I'll try and establish the temperature rating of the 15mm Hep20 barrier pipe. I know it is suitable for central heating so I would have thought it should be OK for a pressure relief valve discharge pipe.
Hi,
I'm currently helping my son renovate his first house and the house had a new boiler a few years ago and was fitted with a Condensing Boiler, Potterton Performa 24 ECO HE. The plastic Condensate discharge pipe and the 15mm copper pressure relief valve discharge pipe have been run out of the...
Thanks for your comments Oldbuffer. You are correct that the core system has a 'spine' of 22mm and 10mm 'spurs' feed off to individual rads. I'll bear in mind your comments about feeding off the spine and not piggy backing.
Thanks Cross Thread. What are the considerations you are thinking of with regard to the layout? Are you thinking of just the practicality, location of pipes, length of pipes etc.?
