Thanks both for quick responses.
Current RCD is Type A.
It's very unlikely that the separate sockets would be in use at the same time (apart from the CCTV one) so I can't see it going over 13A.
Edit - actually thinking about it I may add a couple of lights in both pergola area and summer...
I want to add a couple of sockets in the garden - one in a pergola area and the other in a summerhouse. Both relatively low draw, although I suspect we may use a 1kw heater for short periods of times in the summerhouse.
I was hoping to make use of an external socket / fused spur which is...
Great thanks SUNRAY - really helpful. They are on different MCB's so I like the idea of the relay for simplicity. Any recommendations on stockist / brand of relay to go for that includes a mount?
We have 2 bathroooms located near each other both with their own extractor fans but I've just noticed one of them is venting in to the roof space?! The other is venting through a roof tile vent.
I'd like to combine both so they are venting out of the existing roof vent. I've seen 2 suggestions...
Hi,
In the process of installing a Heatmiser UH8 wiring centre with out Vaillant 637 ecotec plus. The Vaillant has a permanent feed (L E N) and a 230v RT connection.
I'm just trying to work out the right way of installing the 'Boiler Enable'. Heatmiser say it's a 'volt free' switch, which I...
Just came across this old post which mentions best practice is connecting the basin waste at 3X pipe diameter downstream of the toilet connection

Amazing - thanks again Old&Bold.
I've not come across 'deep seal' traps in my very limited exposure to drainage - does the trap with anti vac you linked count as one?
If not - what am I looking out for?
Brilliant thanks old & bold, had a feeling that might be the case!!
I'll get hold of one of those and hope the u bend on the sink helps to keep the smells out
Hi,
Just putting in a new soil pipe and running waste for sink in the bathroom. I bought a pan connector similar to this:
https://www.drainagecentral.co.uk/MobileDetail.php?Prod_ID=4908
It's a 90 degree pan connector with integral 32mm boss for waste. Can this be installed horizontally (i.e...
Hi,
I came back from a week’s holiday on Sunday to find the boiler not working. It wasn’t working on either hot water or central heating.
In diagnostic mode the LED’s would sometimes just show a fast flash on LED 1 (‘Faulty boiler or irregular operation’) or alternatively LED 1 and 3 would...
Thanks Tony - sounds like it might be engineer time.
With regards the ignition PCB, wouldn't the boiler fail to light altogether rather than sometimes stop after about 5 minutes use? (excuse my ignorance if I am talking rubbish!!)
Thanks agile. I got it in to fault finding mode this evening having had a cold shower. Led sequence was as follows:
Left and right green led flashing alternately (led 1 and 3) - according to manual normal operation for dhw
Then after 30 secs or so
Left and right green led flashin...
thanks Tony - any recommendations on an engineer in London (N5)?
The guy who serviced the boiler has failed to show on a couple of occasions when promising to come look at the problem so losing my trust in him.
Thanks
Forgot to say that when failing to light the green light just flashes as normal (standby mode)
Video of when its failing to light:
