    Hep20 inserts

The only copper pipe is where the new system will join the existing 15 and 22mm copper pipes- all the new pipe will be Hep20. Hep20 fittings will be OK to join to the copper (hot 22mm and cold 15mm)? The boiler is in the bathroom so the distance is short- do I run 22mm to the bath taps?

    Hep20 inserts

I've not worked with Hep20 pipe before. Do I need to use pipe support sleeves or pipe end protectors when connecting to push fit fittings (possibly from Screwfix as there's one local)? Links: pipe supports protectors Thanks.

    Loft Conversion

I think my rafters are 5x2" - the Building Inspector suggested that I insulated the roof with Tri ISO 10 attached with battens on the face of the rafters (the inside) so that the gap would be deep enough to meet Building Regs. Looking at your photos you'll need to remove the insulation if...

    Tiles or Laminate??????

You'll need two cutters: a wet one (tile saw) and a dry one (tile cutter): Have a look on the b&Q or Screwfix website for a better idea :)[/img]

    Loft Conversion

The 50mm gap is on the cold side e.g. between the back of the insulation and the tiles. If you're short on depth, look at Tri ISO 10.

    Tiles or Laminate??????

Laminate is OK until the washing machine, dishwasher or sink leak. The hardest thing about tiling 32m is being on your knees alot :)

I put a step either side of the cat flap my kitchen door as the cat flap is fitted quite high to miss a cross beam in the door and she's old.

    Granite worktop - sealing joints

I'd suggest silicone sealant. It's a lot easier to use, cheaper and does the job. I had thought about using resin but my granite supplier suggested silicone and it works for me.

Can I cut a joist end like this?

Excellent :D That's what I thought (couldn't find a picture with the strap the other way around). Thanks for your help again. Guess you mean 180 degrees ;)

Can I cut a joist end like this?

Many thanks for the reply. I'm having problems visualising how to use a twisted strap. I cut a 2" slice out of the pole plate. Insert chamfered 8x2 into gap/ on top of pad stone and adjacent to the existing ceiling joist Where does the strap go? Do you mean one "side" of the strap attaches...
