Honeywell Galaxy Dimension GD-48 "Alert-Batt low"

Hi, I'm getting "Alert-Batt low" message when arming system (partial, code+A+zones, haven't tried full) and system doesn't arm. It's otherwise perfectly working system with no issues, have used it for years. I suppose (after reading installer manual), that this means the rechargeable backup...

Galaxy Dimension 0k N/C zone resistance option?

Hi, I do have currently project on wiring few new zones to GD-48, previously had only RF Zones. Panel has 7.something firmware. Story (and documentation) tells, that GD-panels need always serial- and/or parallel resistors depending on zone confirmation and detector capabilities (mask...

Galaxy Dimension firmware and panel localisations?

Hi, having currently three different (1 x GD48, 2 x GD-96) Galaxy Dimensions installed at various places, and firmware updates become beneficial sometimes. Firmware is surprisingly available from Honeywell, already have one SPI-key, but no SPI-key programmer yet. Changing panel localisation...

    More CCTV Questions

Consumer grade SSDs are not meant for 24/7 usage, nor are consumer grade conventional hard disks. SSD have limited write cycles, you propably knew it? From the other hand, you can very well use 5400rpm conventional hard disk designed for NAS use. Those are silent and usually energy efficient. WD...

    Galaxy alarm Line fail 4

Problem exists still in 2020. Mine appeared after push-server address was changed in May. Using GD-48 with 7.x firmware and E080-10 Ethernet module. Removed the module from RS-bus, send plenty of engineer tests, and removed server address from settings and few reboots. Can't pinpoint which one...

    Honeywell TouchCenter Plus camera support?

Installation manual doesn't say anything about supported cameras, found an TouchCenter Plus brochure saying equIP-, HDZ- and Performance-series are supported. Will find out in few weeks and keep you informed, I have couple OnVif MileSights and HikVisions to test after installing the TC+

    Honeywell TouchCenter Plus camera support?

Does anybody know, what are supported IP-cameras on Honeywell TouchCenter Plus control panel? Is support only for Honeywell cameras, or OnVif in general? Youtube videos show interface for inputting IP-settings, ports, usernames etc, but camera discovery looks automatic? Did they include nasty...

Using Galaxy Dimension for controlling water shutoff valve?

I have installed succesfully GD-48 in my summerhouse. Old home automation system (with wired alarm) went south lately, so it makes sense to use GD for certain home automation tasks. PIR-detectors are on RF-portal and they are placed in yard buildings (4) and summerhouse with few wireless smoke...

Galaxy Dimension RS485-line and ethernet serial converters

I need separate 12v power supply for certain other things, that part shouldn't be problem. Power can be supplied to modules from local power supply if panel is far away, it's OK according to manual. But you are correct, it's single pair for data and other pair for power.

Galaxy Dimension RS485-line and ethernet serial converters

Thanks! Are there any other preferred solutions (other than digging new cable) than common serial converter? Panel is located in cellar/utility room and even it's house built around 2010, nobody thought installing ethernet cable between main building and garage, it's currently PowerLine...

Galaxy Dimension RS485-line and ethernet serial converters

... Do they work together? I have currently one mk7 keypad connected directly on panels RS485-line. However, for sake of convenience and better usability, another keypad on garage would be good. Can I simply use two RS485-ethernet converters to connect remote keypad to panel and use my existing...

Galaxy Dimension compatible wireless smoke detectors?

Hi folks, looking for information on Galaxy Dimension (GD-48 / GD-96) compatible wireless smoke detectors. I'm using 7.02 firmware on both panels and C079-2 RF RIOs with Alpha protocol. DF8S is compatible per Honeywell literature, but are there other compatible versions? DF8S is somewhat...
