Enineered wood over concrete in an unheated room.

It's due to go on sometime in early March. Think I'll wait. It'd be nicer crawling about on a warm floor than a cold one anyway!

Wooden floor needs protecting due to fire regulations

Lift the wooden hearth, put timber flooring all the way into the fireplace, and then get a toughened glass hearth?

Enineered wood over concrete in an unheated room.

Hi Our livin room etc. is pretty close to needing a floor down, but the UFH hasn't yet gone on. (Boiler not connected yet) I have a couple of fan heaters in there for when it's really cold, and was wondering if I could get away with laying engineered oak (14mm thick IIRC) BEFORE the heatin...

Anyone? I guess I could leave what I've already put in, and double up the vertical posts using C24, if I need to get more strength.

Replacing existing vinyl floor with ceramic tiles and underf

My present bathroom has self adhesive vinyl tiles over a couple of levelling screeds over floorboards. The house is about 100 yrs old, and we'd like to replace the existing vinyl mank with ceramic tiles and have underfloor heating as well. The floorboards aren't in such good shape, but they're...
