1mm joint with flexi grout cracking out

Hi I am in a bit of a hole and need some expert advice. I am in no way a tiling newbie, I have tiled walls and floors on building projects for a good 10 years but it seems I've missed something. I have tiled on timber floors with flexi adhesive, and flexi grout. Sometimes with fairly cheap...

breaking suspended ceiling to get height (edit)

In many situations the firebreak looks a bit like tri Oso foil insulation, I suppose if you are taking things this far then maybe the glass partitions should be fire glass, definitely toughened anyway. Surely there's a specialist in here who can help. Or maybe they have been suspended?

Hole in wall - do I need a Lintel?

If that's the case if will be a messy job, I have done similar before and found that u end up with a constant barrage of rubble/mortar. Letting this fall in might result in a big void above. You could stitch drill it and try and insert thread bars horizontally above where you will have your safe...

Hole in wall - do I need a Lintel?

When fitting gas/elec flush boxes to external walls no lintel is used unless they are alongside each other, they are approx 4-500mm wide. When u say the wall is approx 500mm thick what is its construction, is there a cavity? If its solid brick you will find it hard to get lintels in that deep...

breaking suspended ceiling to get height (edit)

As long as your glass partition frame will allow you to fit the perimeter strip to it this shouldn't be too tricky. I would agree tho, if your not the builder it may be best to leave it to them. And you need to know if your partition might then interfere with services above the ceiling?

    HardCore you know the score!

Its a porch! Surely it cant harm just to dig out for the hardcore too, wont take much longer. 150mm might be overkill for a porch mind. Just chuck in the slabs and break em up a bit with a sledge?

    Stabilisation of stream bank

We built a river bank up with railway sleepers a few years ago. They were all interlocked, and drilled. We then rammed steel rods through them all and about 3 feet into the river bed. Seems to have held up brilliantly, and looks the monkeys. They were the russian sleepers, and were...

    garage walls..insulation options? thermalite?

In my limited opinion Thermalite are fine to fix to if your boarding them dot and dab style. Fair enough thermalite with nothing covering them might be bad, usually a question of what your fixings are going to be?
