Sorry, please help with wiring of kitchen extractor fan!!

Hi I have bought an XPELAIR WX6 extractor fan for a kitchen. It is wall mounted and not one of these cooker hood types. It won't be used with a timer and won't come on when lights are switched on. Instead we want it to have a simple switch. The builder is saying the following...

Electric UFH - Do I *really* need thermal insulation boards?

Thanks for the reply. I have decided to go ahead and buy the insulation boards, polystyrene type with no cement backing. They were cheap anyway... Does anyone know the best way to fix them down on to chipboard? Can i use an adhesive rather than waste time with screws and penny washers...

Electric UFH - Do I *really* need thermal insulation boards?

Hi the room has a HW radiator in it. The UFH will hopefully give the room a lift. It has always been pretty cold in there during winter, so much so that we don't use the room. However now we have insulated under the floor (was just a massive empty void). So fingers crossed this December...

Electric UFH - Do I *really* need thermal insulation boards?

Hi I am not being stingy (a glove box stuffed full of selco/screwfix/tool station receipts can prove that) however I don't like buying things that are a bit of con (e.g. those reflective panels behind radiators!) and I have always been curious about these thermal tiles so I would like...

hi re: devimat 150 problem (power cable) i have damaged the power cable (with a power drill!) breaking the outer insulation revealing fine copper wire (which is not live). the mat is not heating up and i am 90% sure this is due to the power cable break however the ufh stops...

Can I glue down a click system? + staggered joint question

Thanks for the quick reply. In answer to your question the supplier on the phone said to me that the product needs to be able to move (expand/contract). However when I asked how come T&Q can be glued down if the edges are glued anyway? He didn't really have an answer. I think I'll glue...

Can I glue down a click system? + staggered joint question

Hi I have seen an oak E/B click system product (125mm Width x 1200mm Length) that I like. Rather than float the floor I would like to glue down. We have glued down T&G E/B downstairs and we like the solid feel under foot. However is there any reason why I can't glue down the click system? I...
