Hi

I have bought an XPELAIR WX6 extractor fan for a kitchen. It is wall mounted and not one of these cooker hood types.

It won't be used with a timer and won't come on when lights are switched on.

Instead we want it to have a simple switch.

The builder is saying the following this is where I need some advise please.

He is saying one of these is needed high up on the wall near the ceiling:

Then at normal 'light switch' height, another switch is needed.

Is he right?

The silver coloured isolator switch is not fused. Is this ok? Should it be a FCU at this position? Is he right?

Of better still could we get away with a single switch at normal height?

Please help and if I need to buy some things please may I have links to Screwfix!!!

Thanks v much

You don't need a 3 pole isolator if your not having a timer function.

Just have a dual pole fused switch or fcu.
