We won't be able to afford to replace the windows for a long while yet. Just the little thing holding the 2 pieces together has gone. Anyone know what that's called? Not seen one sold before and seems like it may be a difficult bit to source, or more expensive than a bracket when including the...
I've just floorboarded the main sections of an attic to be used as a spare room. Do I need to cover all exposed fibre glass in the shallow roofed sections where it won't be touched to avoid particles of it floating into the air and causing coughing?
I need to drill a hole with a centre where the edge of another hole is. How could I hold the drill in the right place or otherwise make this hole without the bit slipping towards the other hole?
I need a 25mm hole with its centre at the back of the hole in the middle of the pictured triangle.
Thanks for the knowledge and suggestions. In the end I just sketched a 45mm circle and went for it with my jigsaw. It's not a pretty hole but it doesn't need to be and the starlings are circling desperate for somewhere to nest so here it is.
It's a soft wood. Usually I'd wander upto the builder's skip and pick something out of it but it's not really the time. I think I'll just try it. I've got about 7mm to try to see if it will work.
Only got the one attempt so I wouldn't want to try it to find it's not possible to turn that tightly. There's already a 32mm hole where it needs to be.
Oh right brilliant that'll do perfect, cheers. I'm actually not sure how I'll make sure it's all around the brick as I replace it. should I squeeze it into the gap above and to the sides with an icing bag or something?
I need to fit a brick in a wall where there's one missing and don't want to buy a big bag of cement etc. to fit it if possible. Is there another good way of doing it? Silicone or something?
I want to avoid buying a new toilet seat if I can buy seperate fittings for this one. I don't mind it being a bit tricky if it's perfectly doable.
Someone re-did their bathroom and gave it to me rather than throw it out, because it's a good quality one.
So the seat had two anchors it came with that can't be replaced? It seems to be functional otherwise, why do you say it may be useless without?

The fittings on my current seat are very low quality cheap, weak plastic and won't fit this seat anyway because they have no poles to go in the holes on the seat in the pictures. I don't know what I'll have to use to hold any new poles in the metal holes but you can see glue is what the last...
