Looking for a Heating Engineer in West Somerset area... Near Bridgwater/Nether Stowey.
To supply and fit new flow switch and relay to boiler, new Blender valve and fit new ignition lead.
...?
Following the very wet winter, we had water damage on the exterior west wall of the house. Water-soaked wall inside!
Problem has been found in the chimney stack. Very high up. Thankfully my builder has rebuilt the stack from the ground up. Initial problem solved.
My question is how long will it...
We have a SMEG oven which we inherited when we bought the house 7 years ago.
Last week the element failed, and tripped the fuse box. I diagnosed is to faulty element. Bought a new one online and fitted it. It Lasted 30 seconds, and tripped the fuse box again.
Does this suggest faulty wiring...
Winter is setting in properly now, and I've noticed that our house is getting chilly with endless drafts from the old-fashioned, sash windows.
We've already have the downstairs windows ripped out a new double glazing units placed in.
But of course it was very expensive, and we can't afford to...
Done it!
Thanks for all offers of advice.
It was tight timing: another 12 hours and I would have had 7 frustrated, cold, and needing washing - German ladies, breathing down my neck!
YIKES!
Hi Ian,
Yeah I guessed that it was simply a "pointer" the the part needed. Thanks ;-)
In fact, maybe you can help solve a riddle for me?
It's very hard to get access inside - mostly because the boiler is build into a cupboard recess, so I cannot see very easily, let alone bet my big hands...
vokera compact 24 boiler leaking. Small inside component
I know others have had leaks, but this is from a different component.
Please see photo attached.
Is it easy to change this part?
Thanks.

Strange, seems reasonable on the bottom level, but the top level often has residual lime-looking bits on the dishes and glasses.
Any ideas?
I have taken out all the removable plastic parts inside the machine - the arm and everything to ensure they are clear inside to allow for easy water flow.
Hiya,
which paint shall we use on the new, expensive, heavy, un-yeilding cast iron guttering we are about to install?
Must be white:
Dulux weathershield oil-based, or Hammerite, or what?
I want it to last as long as poss.
Thanks.
Carey
Hello all,
We've inherited an Alpha CB24 28 Boiler. Lived here 18 months.
Yesterday, I noticed it wouldn't "fire-up". It showed alternate, regular flashing neon lights. I checked and was concerned to see that the pressure was very low (approx 0.3 bar) So filled up from the loop, it's now 1.2...

Is this the same principal as using Fernox F4 Leak Sealer stuff that my pluming suppler sold me saying it'll work. Haven't tried yet, but another friend cast doubt that it would, but wasn't 100% sure about it.
