Help with why my combi boiler has a dual programmer?

Just a little update on the final result of having the hive installed. The British Gas engineer come out, I told him about the radiator in the front room being controlled separately or so I was told by the previous owner, he told me this isn’t the case after looking at the wiring, and decided to...

    Bonding gutters

I have the exact same issue and my roofer said some people mortar them some don’t, knew it was bullshit. Great so I have a draughty roof or have the tiles taken off and put back down again.

    Bonding gutter issue?

Hi everyone, I purchased a semi-detached which has come with a few issues. My house has a tiled roof and next door is slate, after a few months of being in the house we noticed a slight leak in the roof where the two houses meet in the loft, turned out they failed to install a bonding gutter...

Cold loft with open chimney breast issue.

Was thinking about stuffing it with something like a chimney sheep or abit of insulation board. You had any issues with the sulphate salts on the wall on the second floor? I didn’t notice it when purchasing the house due to the walls being white, but now I’ve painted the wall a light grey I...

Cold loft with open chimney breast issue.

Hi all, so I’m trying to work out the best way to tackle this issue I have. We have an old unissued chimney breast which has been removed from downstairs and the roof but is still left in an upstairs room and partly in the loft. My issue with this is my house is getting really cold in the winter...

Help with why my combi boiler has a dual programmer?

Just took another look at the two way valve and it was already set to manual on the side of the box, so it should just be a case of wiring up the new hive and getting rid of the old thermostat. Cheers for the help everyone.

Help with why my combi boiler has a dual programmer?

It is the cable for the motorised valve, in the previous post I said from what I can see the valve wire is not linked up to anything. So if the valve is just sat on the pipe and not wired up, I’m guessing it’s already set to open constant? that picture help more? The more I look at the picture...

Help with why my combi boiler has a dual programmer?

well that sounds more promising, I was beginning to think It wasn’t going to be possible. So I’d get the single program hive? I have seen on some other posts about people installing the hive with having a separate thermostat and they’ve not been able to get the hive working without...

Help with why my combi boiler has a dual programmer?

Thanks for the reply, so as for the pipes expanding noise I had my ear at the side of the valve and it definitely sounded like it was that. It was like a motor noise/ ticking over noise. It’s a noise I’ve never heard before and we’ve been here for a year now. I don’t know if because the boiler...

Help with why my combi boiler has a dual programmer?

Just an update on the picture front. so looking more closely at the zone valve the wires don’t seem to be connected but like I said previously I only found this due to it making a ticking noise after my boiler had been in service mode, this stopped after the heating come back on.
