Is it possible to go overboard with wall ties....already spent £30 and only four courses up on a smallish build?

well, budget is limited, vertical DPC it is am afraid. It's on 7/8 quid a roll. do you know if I should lap it back between door/window frame and blockwork on reveal?

I asked in as many ways as possible because I am not qualified or a professional and I wanted to get as much assistance as possible since I am keen to help my Father.....

When using 4inch blocks to return a wall over cavity around windows or doorframes should I use 6inch or 9" DPC? Where should the DPC lap back? i.e. should it lap back on both sides for example back into the door frame?

Where the foundation wall in question is almost completly (bar 150mm on external side) reinforced by solid mass i.e. floor slab and compacted subbase on inside and pavement slab (metre wide roughly) and subbase and retaining wall on outside....... where will my troubles likely occur? Will it be...
