It was fitted by a builder who it turns out hadn't done a UPVC door before... I know, I know...
I have a specialist coming out to see if he can adjust or if needs be will remove the glazing and "repack" it apparently.
Hopefully can get it locking at least although no doubt the life of the door...
Thank you - wish I could say that crack / overtightened fixing was the worst thing the "builder" had done to the house...
I'll have a look and see if there's removable cap on the hinges - thanks again.
We had a backdoor replaced last year as part of a renovation with a new UPVC door.
It fit just fine when first fitted but since the weather got warmer it's been more and more reluctant to lock - now it's stopped altogether. It shuts ok, handle lift is a little tougher than previously but does...
Thanks for replying.
Yes, I think I understand the principle - essentially a pulley at each post with a hook to tie on - loosen to lower the line, pull to height then tie in place?
I've asked on the local community Facebook group to see if any scaffolders are around - I did try asking the...
We're looking to get a washing line set-up in our back garden.
We live in a valley so our garden is quite elevated from the house - as such there's not really a tether point on the house suited to attaching a line.
The previous owners appear to have had two scaffold-pole like tubed concreted in...
Hi everyone,
We are in the process of renovating our under-stairs cupboard into a more useful storage space.
The wall (external wall) the stairs are on is unplastered and rather dusty. My partner was keen that we board it - but I'm thinking (to save on space) of just painting it to seal it up...
Thank you so much @Wayners - really useful advice.
I've purchased a box of Toupret today and have some of the Sockitz boxes already in situ so I'll see how I go over the weekend.
Perhaps a stupid question - but any tips on the best grit of sandpaper to be using once the filler is set?
Hi there,
We had our house replastered and rewired throughout.
The builder who did the plastering did a pretty messy job generally (should have found a dedicated plasterer I know...) but particularly rough around the sockets/light switches. He has offered to come back and tidy with some filler...
Hi folks,
I spent some time over last week installing our Tado kit onto our central heating.
We have a Baxi 830 boiler with 11 standard radiators and one towel radiator in the bathroom.
All had TRVs when installed except the towel rad.
The whole system - boiler, pipework and rads are new and...
Thanks @CBW
Just been back through the setup instructions in the Tado app and it doesn't mention touching this block of wiring so it could be the issue.
Just power off an remove that yellow link cable?
Cheers,
Steve
Hi @cross thread - thanks for replying.
The Tado app advised me I needed to buy a separate power cable so I have a plug to two core cable providing the power to the extension kit. (it is powering up correctly from a socket).
The blue and brown cables are capped with insulation caps at both...
