    it has a ptiched roof and sticks out. the loft is well insulated but you can't get to the bay window roof from the loft. it has glass to both sides so can't insualte the sides. thanks for your advice, i think trying to insulate the roof and bottom is the way forward. cheers

    i think, bregs now ask for a 50mm clear cavity in partial fill cavities that would mean if you use 30mm insul then you need at least an 80mm cavity. a cavity helps in insulation and prevents cold bridging which leads to damp etc.
