    Mice in garage

I wonder if I can use some snippers to chop off the bottom of their feet for that 'slammed' look as well?

    Mice in garage

Good one. I was going to spray paint them, but tipex might be easier to apply.

    Mice in garage

We recently noticed droppings in our garage so went ahead and got a couple of rat traps (we thought they were rats, turns out there were mice). Since getting the traps we've been catching between 2-4 mice per night for the last few days and so far we've caught a total of 17 mice. I've been...

Painted gloss stick tacky after three weeks

Month on we still have sticky gloss, especially where he's painted over caulk. We have doors that are sticking like crazy and seem to be getting worse, and dust/dirty is clinging to the top of skirts boards. is there anything I can do, even if it means re-painting?

Dulux matt, but it looks more like satin

My wife bought some Dulux matt red paint for our sons bedroom. I've painted one wall with it, but to me it is far too reflective for a matt paint and wondered if this was normal with Dulux paints? Our whole house it painted with Matt paint (different brands) and none of them reflect light like...

    Painting melamine office furniture

Will BIN yellow with time? Just wondering whether to stick a top coat over it?

    Painting melamine office furniture

Thanks. The units have a printer sat on top at the moment, certainly not high traffic. I had considered buying some glass tops to protect to top surface. I'll look at trying the BIN stuff.

    Painting melamine office furniture

I have a couple of office storage units in our home office, covered in textured melamine with an ABS edge banding. It's currently a beach/maple colour and I'd like to paint it white rather than replace the units. I'm concerned though that the paint isn't really going to stick to the melamine...

No hot water from two downstairs taps

I just wanted to add. I've done further testing tonight. No hot water from kitchen tap, but if I set the heating away by raising the thermostat, then turn the kitchen tap on, we get hot water. Surely this is a problem with the boiler and not the flow of the taps?

Bathroom basin overflow, what waste do I need for this?

I think I've managed to fix it. I used a grinder to extend the height of the slots in the waste to be low enough to prevent water build up. With the help of some plumbers mate we appear to be leak free.

Bathroom basin overflow, what waste do I need for this?

Yes there's a flexible pipe which connects to the overflow hole on the sink. There isn't really much I could trim off the overflow to make it fit sadly. You can see in this link just how much bigger the overflow is compared to the waste, and it results in the water leaking from the threads...

Bathroom basin overflow, what waste do I need for this?

We have a bathroom basin which needs a new waste fitting, however I can't seem to find a bathroom waste which is suitable for the overflow on the sink. For some reason image attachments are not working, so here's the link to the photo http://www.image-share.com/upload/3589/71.jpg I've tried...

Tile cutter for 600mm floor tiles

Thanks. I had considered using my grinder, however I'd be concerned with the mess and debris flying everywhere? does it?

Tile cutter for 600mm floor tiles

I'm planning on tiling our kitchen floor soon, and wondered if someone could recommend an electric tile cutter that's suitable for 60 x 60 floor tiles? I was planning on using a manual tile cutter for straight cuts, and an electric cutter for doing other cuts, which I'll need a few odd cuts to...
