Help with the right adhesive and trowel

If the screed is an anhydrite screed the surface laitance MUST be ground off before you do anything else. If you do not remove this layer, you are asking for trouble. Ask the company who done your pour if they do this service, many do.

    Amazon Alexa.Makita Radio delay

Hi, thanks for your reply, that all makes sense. I have radio's on all over the house so when i'm walking around room to room always music. But the delay between the 2 nearest devices is a tad annoying! And it's 50 seconds. Gonna put the dot in the drawer and get another Makita DAB site radio...

    Amazon Alexa.Makita Radio delay

Hi. Hope not a stupid question. In our lounge we have an Amazon Echo and in our kitchen we have a Makita site radio (don't ask!) I listen to a lot of internet radio, specifically BBC 6 music. For some reason, when i have both playing, there is a 50 second difference between the two, i've timed...

    Please recommend a CCTV camera

Apologies if this is a repeat thread. I am experiencing regular fly tipping outside my garage. I need a CCTV camera that is discreet and must be battery powered as there is no mains available. Also with a memory card and capable of night vision. The battery needs to last ideally around 6 hour's...

    Tile adhesive for tiling hearth

Hi, sorry for late reply. Save your money, no need to buy the adhesive you mentioned. Go to your tile merchants and get a bag of single part flexible adhesive, either rapid or slow setting, up to you. Im a tile contractor and i have a wood burner in my house and the hearth never gets so hot that...

    Polyflor cleaning

Hi. We had some Polyfor fitted in our kitchen and downstairs bathroom a little while back. The floor is very easy to clean and comes up really nice but there is one section, about 400mm and about 25mm wide alongside a weld that somehow really holds onto the dirt and shows up very quickly even...

    Bay window lintel supports!!!!!

Hi. I have an Edwardian house and i need to re do the front bay window. At some point the 2 stone/brick pillars supporting the bay were removed as well as the stone sill itself. Look's like the double glazing has an internal metal rod inside supporting the stone at the top. (hope I've described...

    Flexi hose not reaching cistern

Hi. Im actually a tiler and have a small issue refitting a wc. I've levelled a floor and tiled it with a thick stone and now the flexi hose won't reach the bottom of the cistern. It's only about 50mm. The existing flexi hose is 300mm. I know the next size up is 500mm which wouldn't be feasable...

Help a girl out - grout cracking on floor tiles

Afraid to say i reckon you're tiles are loose. Seen this hundred's of times. Tap the tiles. Do they sound hollow? Get someone to stand on them whilst you are on you're knees and look at the joints. Can you see movement? Grout is pretty tough stuff but it won't hold tiles together if they are...

Full tile at the top or bottom

Full tile at ceiling level definateley. But make sure youre ceiling is level becasue if it isn't (it probably isn't) you need to set out from the highest point. Draw a level line around the room at any height. Get a tape measure and at various points measure the distance from the ceiling down to...

    Customers wanting to pay cash.

100k in cash. Wow. I have 2 mates that are in the trades. Neither of them paid any tax or NI for years and years. One of them over 30 years. Totally off grid the both of them. Been laughing at us 'mugs' for years. Sad thing is, its catching up with both of them. Both coming up to retirement age...
