Hi all
I have really confused myself as to what my next steps should be prior to re tiling.
I have removed old tiles from screed (tiles were down for 11 years and bonded directly to screed with thinset over the wet UFH).
Obviously I have the odd divet here and there from chiselling so do I need...
Picture from further back. The UFH zone valve is below the leaking 3 port valve and actuator. The two isolating valves for the UFH can be seen on the right with red taps.
The question is if I remove power from the system so the zone valve stays shut and isolate the UFH, would I need to drain...
Noticed a slow drop in boiler pressure recently and think I have found the culprit! Looks like my blend valve is leaking.
I have sourced another valve which is 3/4". The original may possibly be 1" ? but they are not made anymore apparently according to Uponor, only 3/4 and 1 1/4.
I don't see...
Thanks Terryplumb. If the pipework around the separator is blocked then can i fit a tower vent? Only difference is there is no separate cold feed connection. I assume i could T in the feed to the 22mm vent as soon as possible after the air separator connection which is pretty much what i had in...
Great, that puts me out of my misery regarding what it is then - thanks!
The rads upstairs take a long time to get hot but they do and the flow pipe is damn hot.
I am home now but will check with a magnet in the morning. I did check a lot of pipework with a magnet but no joy as yet.
I think...
HI all
My brother and his young family moved in to their first home last week and it has been a complete mare!
Everything from the front door multi point lock jamming, total re skim needed upstairs after removing 4 layers of wall paper, to the heating problem.
I am trying to help out here as...
Hi all
I have a natural slate roof that has no soffits or ventilation of any type that I can see?
I want to add ventilation as I am insulating the roof internally to make it a small work area.
I have left 50mm behind the between rafter,100mm insulation but cannot work out how this would be...
At present there is 100mm of foil backed expanded polystyrene board between the rafters, covered with a vapour barrier to the inside of the garage loft and also a 50mm air gap behind to the breathable roof membrane.
I would like to cover over this with PIR backed plasterboard just to boost the...
That makes sense. I will try and have the insulation against the bottom of the floorboards then as it is the room that needs to stay warm. The rolls of 150 were free or i would have got 200 and as i dont want to class this as a habitable room, it needs to be kept as low cost as possible. Will be...
am in the process of converting the attic area of my detached double garage in to a useful room.
I don't want it to be habitable but comfortable enough to perhaps stick a tv and small sofa up there.
The garage was originally built by he previous owners with the intention of being properly...
My entire UFH manifold is now wrapped in loo roll covered in blue felt tip lines. Next step, all rad tails which i have nipped up and do show some signs of corrosion. If this doesn't give me a clue to what is going on then i have no idea.
I am starting at the UFH manifold as it is mounted in a...
Looks like I must have a very small leak I think -
System pressure appears to drop slowly, only after I bleed the towel rads.
I have been over the system from top to bottom but cannot see anything obvious.
The other possibility is that our UFH downstairs has an issue although I think the...
Since moving to our new home in October, we have had numerous problems. Today i found another one!
We have noticed from day 1 that there was an unpleasant smell inside the built in wardrobe in my daughters room.
Initially we put it down to lack of air circulation, however recently i noted that...
