Hi. It's a 'normal' patio door with a euro cylinder lock. (Hope this is correct terminology). It's a recently bought house and there's absolutely no danger of obtaining a key.

Given that I intend to replace the lock anyway, what's my cheapest option?
Are these drillable/angle grindable?
Should I just get a locksmith out?

Normally these are the most common lock for patio door, there should be a screw bolt on the edge of the door which you undo then slide the lock out but the centre lug of the lock must be flush for it to come out, if not it would have to be drill it out unless you find the key !
your local double glazing sometime hold the spare parts if not you can buy online here.

That's the bugger!

I'll give drilling a go then...Sunday probably.
Thanks for the reply and good link btw. With a bit of luck
they'll be able to post me the Yale one-key system that I
like the look of.
New house and lots of 'little tests' to contend with so maybe
not my last thread here...Cheers!

Might be an idea to fit a extra lock on the patio door incase of problem such as Yale patio lock, see here

Yeah, insurance pre-requisite apparently...two on each patio
door, three doors in all...not too cheap in my case
Thx again.
