depends really what you want to do in the future (though you can always change)

try a search for web hosts.

some also come with "web making tools" (for want of a better description)
problem is that they have limits, i use a web host and i create my own websites, i use a programme called "front page" form uncle bill gates (microsoft) but there are lots of other programmes out there.

Its up to you how much you want to spend

you must first think of a name, your is availabale as a co.uk for £10, but that is for the name, you must also have webspace.

as i said try a search, but i suggest

these or these

Tips for building/marketing web sites:

find a good hosting company and a good name for your web site. I can recommand World Africa based in Kent. (Are hosting my site for £50,00 a year and can get you any web domain and email addresses you need. Ask for Mike

Frontpage is a good enough program for brochure web sites, I've done mine with this program. You can try out the look of the site before you launch it etc.
The program itself is not hard to learn.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm repeting everything Breezer says, didn't see his post on the this page before I send my post.

On that african site do they make the site for u ? I am clueless on how I cld make a website... totally clueless

Yes they do. They did our first web site (the one without DIY etc).
Do you have an email address, it's not on your profile.

I can build you a web site, a simple web site, with the information the customer needs, with a bit of backgound and some of your work should only take a few pages to start with.

an example of my work http://www.candgscotland.co.uk/ (this is no longer updated as they failed to pay the bill, the joys contracting)

I have also done one for a youth project http://www.focusyouthcentre.org/

I live in Hamilton, so not the other side of the world!

sonds a lot, even if it is £50:00, ones i suggested are cheaper.

If you have the time/ money get frontpage, yes it will take a while to learn, but it means YOU are in control of your website

Breezer, the one you suggest (the cheaper one) comes without FTP functions and that is something you really need to be in control ;)

My includes all needed facilities etc (£50 is including the domainregistration, hadn't mentioned that, sorry) and very good support, hardly any server breakdown time (also very important when considering a webhoster).

I agree with you about frontpage. I learned to work with it within two days! And normally the program is already included in MS software package on your pc, so no extra costs there.

Another thing to think about is including a (invisible) counter on your site right away so you track the traffic, see where most visitors come from to your site (ads, search-engines etc).

There is very good one, free also. See Statcounter Their forum is also very helpful and friendly ;)
