Wiring a light from a Junction Box.

I'm looking to wire an external Sensor light from a junction box I have in the Attic (Picture attached). From reading posts on here - I need to take a spur from the box using 2.5mm cable (grey cable in picture?) to a FCU with a 3a fuse, then run a 1.5mm cable to the sensor light ?

Just looking for confirmation thats the way to go ?

your missing some earth sleving :LOL: that junction box needs sorting out before you start taking feeds off it :D

if you can try and find what cable are feeding in the junction box then we will go from there ;)
 
The White one on the left is going to an extension lead. The Grey I presume is coming from a main circuit ? The other smaller white one on the right I haven't followed.

i would look to getting a feed 4 your light on a another circuit personaly :D is the light going in the rear garden above the back door?????

Just followed that smaller white cable on the right to the light in the Attic.

The new cable needs to go to a sensor light at the side of the house. I have a light above the back door. Could I run a spur from it ?
 
whats the light off the back door getting its feed from?


you could spare off a socket circuit to a switch fuse spare if you have any close to the light you want 2 install at the side of your house
 
Not sure where the back door light is getting its feed from. I'll take a look at it tomorrow.

There's a socket on the inside wall. So take a cable from it to a 3a FCU and take a cable from it to the sensor light?
 
yes take a feed from that to a switched fuse spare and a 3amp fuse



use the same size cable from the socket to the sfs then from the sfs you can use 1.5 ect :D
 
So sounds like I can do it either way ?

Do you know what size fuse protects this circuit? (The once feeding the JB)
I would be concerned with getting the rest of your installation checked out before connecting anything else up to it
