which Profile?

Hi,

I am comparing 2 quotes for new double glazing, both from small local companies.

quote 1
Selecta Advance
Pilkington K glass

quote 2
Rehau
Pilkington K glass
Locks seem to be of better quality then first quote.

The 2nd quote is about 25% dearer than the first, is this a justified premium for a Rehau profile and better locks?

Would be very grateful for your views on this.

Dont know much about selecta but i very much doubt its better than rehau, with the better profile and better locks the 25% is justified but no harm in pushing for a better deal

Rehau is very good. Would also look at kommerling.

At the end of the day the vital part of any window is the fitting. A cheap window profile fitted well will out last an expensive one if it's fitted badly

I will say that my experience of Rehau profiles in Poland are one of the best profiles that can also take the difference in price.
If I had you'd choose option 2 is a little bit more expensive but the longer you use it.

IMHO Selecta is bottom or hovering close to it in the profile league table.
