Hi Guys

I have combi system which I don't run off the time clock preferring to manually switch on and off.

At this time I find myself running up and down to turn off the upstairs rads (on thermys) during the day. So I want to fit a motorised valve to isolate up-stairs to save my legs!

However the way the system is piped doesn't give me many options and essentially I want to fit the valve with just some form of switch downstairs, so my question is whats the best way to do this a basic time clock?

Many thanks :)

Depends on -

A) Presumably the upstairs rads have their own flow pipe to allow this

B) How simple or complex you want to make it, ie. you could have just a basic switch to open/close the valve, possibly add a seperate room stat for upstairs, or you could have a single channel programmer to time the valve, possibly with a stat as well.

Depends on your needs and the system.

yes - the boiler flow and return goes straight up-stairs and before feeding any upstairs rads drops to the ground floor and then continues to feed the upper floor; so would cut in just after the downstairs drop and then control where they drop down which conveniently is in the kitchen.

Although pretty good on the plumbing bit of a dunse on wiring so would prefer the easy option - what sort of basic switch would I need?

thanks
