question on boilers

The pressure is shooting up because the expansion vessel needs some attention. Your landlord seems determined to waste time and money on other things.

spoke to my landlord who said he doesnt need to provide the gas engineers details as it is his flat.

he said his engineer is coming on monday and i can ask him what ever i want then.

tbh i dont want to give him access to the property without him having his valid gas safety card.

what else should i be asking him or looking out for prior to him entering and also while hes in?

will he need to provide a certificate of completion? what if he doesnt rectify the problem?

Let the RGI show you their GS card and let them carry on with their job. No need to hound and ask a million and one questions.

If they can't fix then I'm sure an explanation will be provided as to why.

No card, no access. If no card you can check details AND PHOTO on the gas safe website ... just in case he forgot that morning ... like I do every morning

ok thanks.

btw just to show how dodgy this guy is.

i noticed a crack in the ceiling so i went into the loft and have noticed 2 new large packages which have been placed up there right on top of where the crack has appeared.

the rest of the stuff has also been moved and its a mess up there.

ive messaged him but he isnt replying and he isnt picking up. im going to change the lock im sorry but i cant have people entering my property without prior consent and putting things up there and moving things around.

also just to clarify regardless of weather the engineer actually fixes the problem or not, will he need to provide a certificate of completion if he tries to claim something like oh I just had to fiddle with a few knobs or something like that?

landlord came round with his engineer who was registered although had an out of date card. i did check him on the system and he appears to be registered.

any way, he said there isnt a problem with the boiler some boilers are made to go up to 3-4 as long as it goes bac kdown again thats ok i said it only goes down when we turn the heating off and he said if we havent refilled the system we havent got a problem with the boiler.

in all honesty i dont know what to believe. surely its not right for the pressure to keep going up up up. he said it isnt going to blow he cant gaurantee it will break down. if to much pressure builds it will go out the exit flume outside.

i think wed be better off moving i just dont trust anyone at the moment and the land lord has broken our trust.

what do you guys recommend?

I knew it because he kept waffling and talking about other stuff avoiding questions.

Looks like he's getting reported then. Not much else we can do here but lump it and move after xmas asap.

Thanks for all your help

Tbh we just want to know if its dangerous. If it breaks down we will get him to fix it but we just want to be certain were not going to get gassed out

Just wondering if you guys think its worth reporting this engineer as he's obviously a cowboy. Also does anyone know what we can do now with regards to getting the landlord to send round a proper engineer to fix it
