Hello. First things first I am a registered spark and I am after some advice I am not a burgular trying it on.
I have a regular customer who has just taken tenancy in his first industrial unit.
In the unit there is a galaxy 2 panel which I am sure was monitored at some point. The telephone line to the panel has been disconnected.
The alarm has a remote keypad by the entrance which has two proximity keys when the proximity keys are held by the pad the alarm tries to arm but then asks for a 'master reset required'
Now my advice was to rip out the alarm and I would install my usual texecom choice however after doing a bit of investigation I have come to the conclusion that this Honeywell galaxy is a decent bit of kit and if possible i would like to get it up and running.
The customer is not interested in a monitoring contract, and is trying to track down the previous tennant to see if they can help. Meanwhile I am posting on here to see what our alternative options are. The only other info I have is that there is a brief message that says 'tamper 04' which flashes up for less than a second before the keypad informs of 'master reset required'
Have tried codes - 12345,112233,999999,9999,0000,000000,1234
What are our options?

You sure its 04?
Not 104 or 1004
Could be a RF module/Rio addressed as that, any wireless on there?

It can be defaulted by a Galaxy engineer, codes only and keep the programming. Your code attempts will be useless as they will all have been changed. Then you can have the codes.
Even with the old master and or user codes any faults will require a engineer reset and that code you do not have.
If your going to look after it, the best option is to use what your used to as a Galaxy is a different beast.

If you rip it out I`ll have it :D

No wireless as I can tell. The system was installed an maintained up untill 2009 then the paperwork stops prob with a change in tenancy. I think our best bet is to find out what the previous tennant says. If there is no joy there then what's the best way to find an installer who knows his galaxy onions? I suppose if the reset and reprogram cost is expensive it will be binned which is a shame.
If your serious about having it your welcome to it.
I don't know how long it has sat with fuses pulled and batt disconnected either.

£70-£80 would be a average cost maybe cheaper there.

NSI or SSAIB would be the best options. Probably SSAIB being the cheaper.

NSI http://www.nsi.org.uk/
SSAIB http://ssaib.co.uk/ ( OOPS they are updating site)

Nah you keep it, I cannot prove provenance so of no use.

You could find a manual on the net, but being a Galaxy it will not give any defaulting info.

Hi dingodeano,

I can take you through the process of sorting this out. I've added you as a friend, as you don't accept PM's as standard.

People like you shouldn't have that info if your wishing to freely give it out!

Its a high end panel , or has that not registered to you, a reason why they don't put that info in the engineering manual.

Alarm Will Back Me Up , as well as a few others on here.

And ignorant people like you and Alarm should really read what's written before blurting out inappropriate commentary. You have assumed that I am providing a process of defaulting the G2 Engineer & Master codes and not any other process of remedying the OP's situation.

So, get your facts straight before blurting tripe. If I had wanted to publicly post the code default mechanism, not to mention many other undocumented features / flaws of Honeywell Galaxy panels, I would have done so by now.

I have to work on one of these soon, could you assist me too?
