Hello chaps, would you fit an auto bypass to a system with 3 zone valves
System design is no pump overrun, I can only see by fitting it may aid with any noise as the water comes to a instant stop.

What's your thoughts?

Also any advise on zoning a property in terms of returns I am worried I may get some latent heat going down the returns for other zones because I am unable to T all returns back to to boiler.

For instance a return from one zone is connected to a return from a separate zone before it Ts into main return circ back ? Any good pictures of a good way to do this spot on ?

Personally I would just use a common return, and would Defoe fit a bypass -
Even if no pump over run would still fit one- saves any call backs for noise when two Ports closing.

So T the returns from the separate zones individualy into the main return back
It's a pig like because it's in a loft covered in insulation !yes have to agree with bypass. I always fit them on these new systems with pump over runs but this boiler is an old classic.

Your right it will help reduce pressure when valves switch off.

I was always told to run each return from each separate zone back to the boiler with the htw return being the last one, but really there is no need to run the htg returns right back, as long as they T into the main return on there own and not in with a separate zone return Right?!

My old boss always piped these type of systems like under floor!!

All your thoughts pls

I would save time and copper and just have a common return, if you did get call backs for reverse return then you could just put a non return valve on the effected but of pipe.
Other people might think different?!?

I'd fit a auto bypass with any zone valve system mate, a jammed relay or microswitch & you'll dead-head the circulation pump.

All Returns can be connected anywhere, just ensure you have the HW Return on the last tee nearest the boiler & of course the tube sizing is also very important.
