Bathroom Heating

Hello,

We (me and missus) are in the process of renovating our first house.
It's a 50's ex-council end of terrace, the bathroom is in the outside upstairs corner above the kitchen. Two of the walls are outside facing cavity walls.
Question is, What do people do to heat their bathrooms. Rad and electric towel rail? underfloor electric heating and towel rail?, plumbed in towel rail and no rad?
Its not a big bathroom, big enough for suite plus a shower cubicle and a bit of room to move in between.
We're a bit undecided, so though I'd ask the opinion of others.

Alot of people tend to go for the towel rail, due to the function that it provides. So you can heat the room before a shower and have a nice warm towel after you get out.

You could fit the towel rail with an element and run it as dual fuel so that it warms your towels in the summer.

warm up under floor is also quite effective and easy to install

Keep in mind fhat fhe output of towel rails is quite low as they are only towel warmers.

A lot of people find them sufficient though

Whatever you select, you will need more than a towel rail on its own. The output from a towel rail is tiny compared to a radiator of a similar size. Then it's reduced even further by covering it in insulation (flufffy towels).

If there's enough space, a towel rail plus a radiator would be my choice, particularly if you have two outside walls.

That's right! Towel rail heat output is tiny and hardly any with towels all over it.

A rad is good but I would suggest a much cheaper solution of an electric fan heater at high level to be used if needed.

Fit a towel rail over a standard radiator panel.
Also
For times when heating isn't on have a look at an electric heated towel rail.
I have installed 2 (en suit & main bathroom), they are brilliant low consumption/t,stat control.

Thanks All.
Will probably go for the electric towel rail plus a radiator, sounds like the towel rail alone will not be sufficient to heat the room. Now to persuade the other half..
