Can't trace toilet leak

Where I stayed last weekend there seemed an odd leak in the bathroom which sometimes flooded the floor quite badly overnight.

I tracked it down to the basin waste leaking slightly. Not noticeable in normal use.

But the cold tap has a slightly faulty washer and dripped a little if not firmly closed off. That dripping overnight leaked from the faulty waste onto the floor!
Not noticeable in normal use?...although a slight drip overnight flooded the floor quite badly?
Did the tap not drip during the day?...when basin in use were the taps not turned on??

I think it was Tony missing the pan when he got up in the night for a wee

:ROFLMAO: Many a true word is spoken in jest!

In my time, I have had a few calls out to "toilet leaks" which have turned out to be exactly that!
Either a young boy or dodery old boy missing the pan, whilst half asleep, in the middle of the night!

Personally, I sit down for nocturnal pees as several pints of San Miguel can impair ones accuracy... and it saves a ballicking from SWMBO :)

Hi Agile, sorry I didn't post the solution as it was me being an idiot. I stuck my hand down the drain pipe and got the seal out that had just slipped off the soil pipe connector.

My floor is wrecked though that'll teach me for ignoring it for so long.

Well said. Us sitters should stand up and be counted. ! Male children should be taught that it's correct to sit and wee on a WC - and to stand if a urinal is available(y)
