Hi Guys,
First of all thanks to everyone who contributes to this forum! Great advice, and saved a fortune.
I had the 'flashing rinse/no spin' problem and found all of the answers here.
Very simple soldering job (RS Components £5, and that included spare relay and 10 resistors!)
Two new dampers (genuine parts £75)
All up and working again.

Slight issue on the motor brushes which I was going to replace at the same time. The brushes I bought have a simple straight spade connection on them. However the current installed brushes have a strange hollow square like connection - not the same as all of the pictures I have seen.
Its a 2000 model (yes 17 years of constant use - go Miele!)

Anyone seen problems on the spade connections on the motor brush replacements?
Thanks

Can you give us a pic of them Bob? All that I have come across have had the flat spade connector.
John :)

Thanks for the reply John

I put it all back together without taking a picture - doh!

But your comment makes me wonder if I was just looking at the whole connection including was the flat spade connects to? When fitting to the plastic motor cover, what does the flat spade connect to, if anything?

Does this machine have the brushes encased in a plastic cartridge, screwed to the end of the motor?
The brush slides into it's rectangular housing, and the connection terminal (spade) then refitted to the back of the cartridge.
Maybe you could give us a photo of the old bits as I'm still a bit confused here. Hopefully the washer is working now?
John :)
