i havea pitch pine parquet floor that I have sanded back over the weekend with a sand glider machine. The floor was in very bad condition but come up well after a lot of sanding.

We have chosen to mat varnish the floor, I have put the varnish on with a pad, it is a walnut varnish. It's looking ok, but I do have some lines in the varnish. Should I sand with 120 grit before the last coat? Or would a roller give a better finish?

Thanks for your help.

Go with a roller, I was watching a "professional" floor finisher and that is what he used to very nice effect.

Any idea what kind of roller? Closed foam? And should I sand before final coat?

Thanks

I did my hall myself with a satin varnish and a pad of T shirt cotton

Later I had a pro sand the hall, dining room and lounge and he used bona sealant which he put on using what was basically a pad on a stick
