No! Not the Grand National.
The PM/Tory leadership race.
The runners and riders are in the ring. There might be one or two late submissions yet.

  • Environment Secretary Michael Gove
  • Health Secretary Matt Hancock
  • Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt
  • Home Secretary Sajid Javid
  • Former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson
  • Former Leader of the House Andrea Leadsom
  • Housing minister Kit Malthouse
  • Former Work and Pensions Secretary Esther McVey
  • Former Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab
  • International Development Secretary Rory Stewart
  • Former Dep Chair of Party and Under Sec of State for Brexit James Cleverly
The only ones with previous experience of this race is Michael Gove, and Andrea Leadsom. Boris Johnson did parade around the ring last time, only to fail to find his way onto the course. Andrea Ledsom must be a favorite, although she did fall at the third fence from home last time out, or was she pulled up? So she's the only one with real experience.

It'll be a shame if Boris is prevented from running again due to a court case.

I think I'm going to have 10p on Jeremy Hunt.

I understand the nation's favourite is someone called "Noneoftheabove."

Perhaps he'll get the job while the General Election is arranged.

But the nation don't get to decide, well not for the next leader/PM, anyway. Maybe the one after that?
Will it be a new record for the shortest PM?
I don't mean literally the shortest.
Oh! The ignominy!

Yet again the dung heap is turned over, and all that happens is that a different turd gets to the top...
