Petrol Lawnmower

Im looking for a petrol lawnmower for a medium sized garden, will probably go for a push along with a budget of £300.
Would prefer something with readily available spares.
Any pointers toward a specific brand would be much appreciated.

Honda Izy!
For that price you are looking at a push 16” cut, but theres little real fear in buying second hand - loads on ebay with new decks fitted.
Izy’s are available in 16, 18 and 21” cuts, either push or self driven.
I buy quite a few rusted out Izy’s if they are local, a new deck is around the £120 mark and are dead easy to change over.

Yep, that’s the sort of thing....new machines have silver decks, older ones are blue.
That one has an automatic choke, fixed speed engine so no throttle.
Granted, after 12 years or whatever the decks will rust out, but there’s nothing to stop you painting it in the winter!
An oil change after the season (10-40) and a spare plug BPR 6ES is all you’ll need and pattern parts like blades and air filters are readily available on ebay.

I had heard the same thing about Honda mowers - they were the thing to have and wouldn't let you down.

I bought the 18" version from the site you've linked to, and have been a little disappointed. It went back for repair after 2 cuts as it started hunting (allegedly due to dirty fuel - despite using brand new fuel with additive), and it doesn't cut all that well. If I could go back I'd buy something different.

Second hand machines seem to hold their value well, so it can be difficult to get a bargain.

As an aside the service I received when trying to get my mower repaired by that company was terrible.

Bought my Izy mower from them - couldn't be more pleased with mower or service.

Do 'waxoyl' deck underside before use and once every couple of years.
