Have loo with concealed cistern, fill valve keep sticking shut and does not seem to have enough weight on it to open after a flush, is it feesible to add a few washers to the top of the float to aid movement?
As for changing I am stuck with one particular model as tank design leaves no room for anything bigger and am working thru access panel only 160mm wide.[and have changed three times todate , all exhibiting same problem. ag1378-inlet-valve-935-p.jpg

Unlikely to be a weight issue, more likely low water pressure. If the WC is run off a cold water storage cistern, rather than off the mains, then the reducer which fits up the stem of the valve should be removed.

If your penny washer rusts I'll sell you a 1967 penny .......for 80p including postage;)

some 2p pieces are made of bronze (later ones are made of copper-plated steel)

I selected some with a magnet and threw in a drawer for when I need non-rusting washers or spacers.
