In my infinite wisdom I told my son that I would replace his new ceiling light fitting in replacement for the existing multi light 12v fitting.
Piece of cake thought I until I removed the existing light and rose.
There were 3 cables, 2 normal 3 ply, live neutral and earth, the third has 2 live and one neutral.
After isolating the lighting circuit I connected one of the standard 3 ply with the result nothing came on.
I then connected the other 3 ply seperately, with the result it came on but I could not switch it off.
Before I go any further is there anybody who could set me right, I suspect the answer is very simple, please help me, I'll be your best friend.
