I'm hoping to fit porcelain tiles on my concrete patio, it is bit uneven so I feel adhesive route won’t work with its current condition.

Removing the thing isn’t really an option so what are my options here

1. Can I fix porcelain tiles using mortar mix? everywhere I read says it's a no no apart from this video.

2. Since the patio need to have a slope I can't use self-levelling compound (?), so can I use a cement/sand mix to repair the concrete at all?

Thanks

is your existing patio solid concrete or concrete patio slabs?

is there a run in the concrete thats there? being porcelain you probably wont want to point/grout them so any water passing through the joints has to be allowed to run away effectively from the concrete underneath.

Yes the concrete is angled away from the house.

if it was my call i’d blob all the corners and the middle with a mortar mix and gently bed them down with a rubber mallett. any pools of water allowed to gather underneath will freeze in winter and could blow them.
although the best solution would be to deal with the concrete first.
