Maybe if the police had coughed up earlier the legal costs would be lower. Did they think they'd win?

And of course buried amongst their 'confession' is that they now believe that the alleged 'sightings' were actually of their own police drones!
On top of that it cost countless millions in travellers' expenses that were never covered by insurance policies...So that Police operation cost the local rate payers of Sussex over £1 million . with no result !
