Finishing off bathroom

How do people finish the floor/wall join the days in a bathroom.

Do most use skirting still?

All down to "personal taste" as far as i can see, in most modern properties, and most repair situations where the wall tiles are being replaced wholesale that I inspect the floor tiles are laid and the wall tiles taken down to the floor, no skirting.

In "Older" properties you can see a timber skirting, as far as I can tell timber skirting s started with the Victorians and ran all the way to the 1960s / 1970s

I occasionally see a different colour of the bottom row of the wall tiles but this is rare, if done properly, it can work well.

What is the wall finish? If you are tiling to the floor you generally don't need skirting (tile to tile joint?). If the wall is bare plaster or the like, you do need skirting, if only to protect the bottom of the plasterwork (and because plasterers rarely give you a nice bottom edge of the wall....)

LVT finished floor
