Took my car to kwik fit, driving home and the car cut out and leaking fuel.

It leaks in bursts intermittently just before it cuts out as soon as I smell fuel the car cuts out instantly. Then it starts right back up fuel smell goes away no visible leaks and after about 100 miles the cyclee starts again
